A Guide to Acne Skin Care

Teenagers are known to be the primary sufferers of acne, but it is not rare to see adults suffering from the skin disease also. Generally though, people between the ages of 20 to 40 years old will suffer from it, but sometimes older, and they will seek treatment. Acne is a skin infection that can be detected by either whiteheads or blackheads on the skin and more commonly appears on the face, neck, legs, shoulders and arms. It is caused by an excessive build up of sebum within the glands of your skin and must be treated quickly in order to keep it under control. Those whom suffer from acne should wash their skin either with mild soap and water or with a cleanser designed specifically for acne infected skin.

Acne Skin Care Treatments

Tea tree oil is a fantastic natural treatment, because as a form of acne skin care as it not only dries the skin out, but it also acts as an antioxidant so cleans the skin too. Night creams made for elderly skin care should be avoided, as your skin needs to breathe properly and cleanse itself while you sleep, the creams will prevent this from happening. A common tip that is too easy to ignore is not to touch the affected areas, as this will aggravate the skin and cause the pimples to become more red and enlarged. A weekly face mask made up of milk, almond powder and rosewater can be applied directly to the skin to help also. Concealing make-up should also be avoided; it is very heavy and can clog your pores, thus causing further spots to appear on your skin.

Acne & Diet

Your diet is also very important if you wish to get your acne under control as acne can also be excelled if your digestive abilities are not in good shape. If you are to take your acne skin care regime seriously, then you should cut out all fried foods, alcohol, fizzy drinks, sweets, tea and coffee. Give your skin some tender loving care and replace them with natural fruit juices or green tea, eat more fruit, veg and salad in order to see your acne begin to clear up.
